About Us
Kraftwerks was started with the idea that the slate roofing, copper roofing and tin roofing we installed would be as close to historically correct as possible. The above pictures show little difference in the installation process.

Our name is German and means "hands factory" or "working with the hands". I felt that it was self explanatory and fit the idea behind the trade or craft.  The tools used to form the "K" are the most commonly used in our field. The soldering iron joins the copper roofing or tin roofing together and the slate hammer cuts and installs the slate roofing.

My career started in 1983 while on summer break from college. I was in awe of the architecture and the thought that our  historic roofing work wouldn't be removed for 50 years or more. I became part of the history, part of the building that had endured so many years and so many more to come.  I have had the advantage of working closely with some of the most respected people in the industry.  While in their service I worked on or managed many historic and influential projects. Some of the most interesting have been Dept. of Treasury, Library of Congress, Pentagon, National Society for Daughters of American Colonists and many Embassies and residences.

A thorough estimate is the first service that we provide to our customers. We provide a pictorial journal to allow you to view first hand the current condition and potential problems of your existing roof system. The recommendations, work scope, product information, detailed drawings, sample warranty and references sum up the report in a simple to understand format. If you wish to review a sample, email us via the Contact Us page and we will forward you a copy of an estimate we have provided.

If you have any questions, concerns or require further information, please feel free to contact our office. All of our contact information can be found on the  "Contact Us" page.

Respectfully,
Shawn Watson, President
